Our child safeguarding & media-consent policy
This page explains how we handle any photo, video or personal information about a child in connection with this website — a priority for us, not an afterthought.
Written consent is mandatory
No child appears in any photo, video or audio recording on a public platform without written consent from a parent or guardian. Verbal or assumed consent is never sufficient.
Consent is specific, not blanket
Consent covers exactly: whether the child's face may be shown, whether their first name may be shown, which platforms content may appear on, and whether it may be reused later.
Names are protected by default
We default to not displaying full names. First name only — or no name at all — is our standard; surnames are never published.
We never publish identifying details
A child's home address, school, or specific schedule details that could let a stranger identify or locate them outside the madrassa are never published.
Safe filming practice
We film in group or class settings rather than isolating one child, and prefer hands/work/board shots over close-up faces when facial consent isn't confirmed. We never film in changing or washroom areas.
Every post is checked before it's published
A named second person — ideally management — checks consent status before any content featuring children is posted anywhere.
Secure storage, limited access
Photos and videos are stored securely, not kept on personal devices long-term, and only accessible to approved staff.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time
If a parent withdraws consent, we remove the content from all platforms promptly and do not reuse it.
